The annual schedule of the laboratory is as follows. In addition to research and educational activities, the whole laboratory enjoys and is able to lead a fulfilling laboratory life. There is a seminar period in each of the first and second semesters. We provide students with opportunities to learn about electrochemistry by introducing relevant literature and discussing their own topics with a variety of people. In addition, because we deal with the interdisciplinary research theme of bioelectrochemistry, students can participate in a wide variety of national and international conferences. In addition to the Society of Agricultural Chemistry, which is closely related to the Department of Applied Life Sciences, there are also the Electrochemical Society, the Society of Analytical Chemistry, and the Polarographic Society, which is the birthplace of our laboratory. In addition, students can participate in international conferences.
We offer three types of seminars.
Thesis Seminar Target: M1 and above Number of times: Once per semester Time: Every Monday AM, about 1 hour in total (in principle) Content: Select interesting papers related to your own theme and summarize them in a mini-review. Students will not only introduce their research but also present and discuss their own thoughts and development of ideas.
Progress Seminar Target: All students Number of times: 3 times per semester Time: Every Friday PM, total seminar time is about 2 hours (in principle) Content: Research progress report, explanation of problems, etc. The seminar will last 10 minutes (maximum) except for the first session, in which the students will present their problems/results/discussions.
Electrochemistry Seminar Target: B4 students + M1 students admitted outside the class Number of times: About 10 times Time: Every Monday AM, total seminar time is 1 hour (in principle) Contents: Reading through the textbook of electrochemistry and exercises.
As part of JSPS bilateral collaboration, phD student, Oceane boces, visited us from France (Montpellier)! We together worked on the experiments for a month, and deepened our understanding of each other’s research through discussions and seminars. We also enjoyed the summer in Kyoto together, such as visiting the Gion Festival and exploring Kawaramachi!
In the second round of the softball tournament, we fought against control and lost 4-16.
We would like to continue practicing for the fall inter-laboratory competition.
The Rikuseikai softball tournament has started again this year.
The first game was against the freshman B team, which won 18-3!
We held a welcome party for new students again this year!
Fellowship was deepened over a meal.
This year, five undergraduate students were assigned to our lab!
Let’s keep up the good work in the new year!
Congratulations to M2 and B4 on their graduation!
To all of you who have departed for new careers, please come back anytime!
A reunion was held, and after the lecture, participants enjoyed a meal and deepened exchanges.
Current students presented gifts to graduates and M2 presented gifts to professors.
Thank you all for your hard work.
Graduates also came and ate the soba noodles together!
This year, at the request of the students, the year-end party was held at a yakiniku restaurant, and everyone enjoyed the delicious meat!
We had a party in the lab for Christmas!
This time, co-researchers from Montpellier visited us for joint experiments and discussions.
This is an international joint research theme for the resource conversion of CO2.
Contributing to the global environment through the fusion of different fields!
Happy Birthday!!
Everyone enjoyed the cake deliciously.
Laboratory of Bio-Analytical Physical Chemistry VS Laboratory of Chemical Ecology
The result was an 11-13 loss.
We were outscored early on, and although we fought back with home runs by Adachi and Hada, we were unable to win the game and ended up with a disappointing result.
Researchers from France visited us again this year.
Joint research discussions and seminars were held.
Afterwards, we enjoyed the autumn leaves and sushi at Ruriko-in Temple and deepened our friendship!
This year’s lab trip to Ise with only students
Visit Ise Jingu Shrine,
Eating local Gourmet at Okage Yokocho
We held the launch of the first semester in a beer garden.
Thank you all for your hard work!
This time, the team of 2nd year Master’s students won! Congratulations!
Students and professors from our laboratory participated in an exhibition match between the winning team and a faculty team.
The result of the match was a 9-10 win for the faculty team after a close game.
A party was held to celebrate the completion of the softball tournament.
Before the opening of the event, the captains are giving their comments and their aspirations for the next event.

Laboratory of Bio-Analytical Physical Chemistry vs Graduate School of Life Sciences, Kyoto University
The result was 14 – 13.
It was a close game, but we couldn’t win…
We will do our best to win the next tournament!
We had a launch party for the students who have finished their assignments in the field of biofunctional chemistry.
Thank you for your hard work.
Happy birthday to Ohashi, Nakanishi and Takebe!
The cake was enjoyed by everyone.
Graduates also came and had a great time!
Let’s work hard again from today!
The first experiment is an analytical chemistry experiment,
The first experiment is an analytical chemistry experiment, which is conducted by the Department of Biofunctional Chemistry.
TAs are Ms. Nakanishi (M1), Mr. Nakamura, and Mr. Fukawa.
Four fourth-year undergraduate students have been assigned.
Let’s keep up the good work this year!
